100TH BIRTHDAY PARTY! WOO HOO!!!
Below: Aunt Mitzi, cousin Kimmy, Me
Just about in middle: MOM!
FOR TODAY... I've decided to pick certain pictures from my life of long ago & share them with you! I hope you enjoy them. Today is my Mom's 100th Birthday, so here she is ENJOY! God bless! She was 4' 10", but she swore that she was 5" tall. (hehehe "Mom, take off your shoes"!) Now her Mom (NaNa) was 4' 6" & there was no arguments, but if we were weighing HER..... THAT'S a different story! Gramma would get so excited if she thought it was too much!!! The English went out the window & she would talk Sicilian/Italian. Those two were just too funny, but I wouldn't change one thing about either one! I miss them both very much! I stayed there a lot to help them out growing up. Gramma didn't believe in store bought bread or mops! You either made it or go without & hands & knees were the only way to clean a floor, but I always got rewarded with a piece of candy or italian ice & of course a smooch & a hug! Now back to mama, if she was weighing herself OFF CAME THE SHOES!!!!! LOL). Like that made a difference. I hope you enjoyed learning about Mama & my grandparents. Believe me there's a lot more, but maybe that only entertains me & the kids. They love hearing the stories of Gramma and NaNee! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA! I MISS MY LIL' MAMA SO VERY MUCH! Gramma was 4'6" & mama was 4' 10"! Oh, and the pictures more or less tell her story, and yes she did love to dance and did not look her age! I LOVE YOU MAMA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'll let her pics do the rest!

DeleteHappy Birthday to your dear mother in heaven.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos.
Happy Easter.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to your mother. I appreciate the beautiful comment you left on my blog. Two girls sad for missing their dad's who left this earth way too soon. May your Easter be filled with joy and many beautiful blessings.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated heavenly birthday to your dear Mother! I loved seeing your photo memories. We will always cherish our memories of our mothers with love.
ReplyDeleteYou asked on my post for my "donut " recipe. The cakes I made for Easter were actually carrot cakes using the Nordic Ware swirl shape mini Bundt pan. It makes 6 mini Bundt at a time. I used a carrot cake recipe from the Nordic Ware website for this pan. I love this pan! Pinterest has many many mini Bundt recipes as well as on the Nordic Ware web suite. If you like to bake this pan is definitely one to buy
I lost my mom recently and enjoyed reading about yours. I love that she took her shoes off. I do that too! I love that your mom is in your heart. That's a wonderful thing. Thanks for sharing the story with us. Cheers, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this story with us.
ReplyDeleteHappy 100th birthday in Heaven to your Mom. I couldn't believe it when I saw the last photo - your Mom looked so much like my mother in law (also Italian). My mil didn't play the accordion, though. I enjoyed seeing more of your family photos.
